Double-Edged Dungeon
Every upside has a downside.
Every boon has a bane.
And in the Double-Edged Dungeon, every wondrous item you find has an unintended consequence.
Dare Ye Descend?
The Story
Many years ago in ancient lands, a cruel wizard sought to use magic to create a perfect knight to do his bidding. After many failures, he finally created a living homunculus – but alas, it was not the specimen he hoped for. Small and weak, it would not be sufficient for the perfect knight he required.
In a bid to rid himself of the creature, the wizard gave his creation a fool's errand: to descend into the Double-Edged Dungeon and retrieve its treasure. The wizard expected the homunculus to either perish or give up in his impossible task, but he underestimated the tenacity of his creation.
Persistent and clever, the homunculus now descends into the dreaded dungeon, using whatever cursed artifacts he finds – enchanted armor, weapons, helms, and boots – to defend himself in his quest. For the dungeon is filled with every manner of foul beast conceivable....
How To Play
In Double-Edged Dungeon you play as a small but persistent homonculus tasked with descending into the dungeon depths to defeat monsters and collect treasures. Every time you bypass a trap or defeeat a monster you choose an enchanted item out of the loot chest left behind. Each item offers a variety of useful buffs to your statistics, but beware – each item's boon also brings with it an unintended side effect.
When selecting items, a list of buffs and debuffs is shown on the side of the screen. Additionally, you can hover over the item's image to reveal information about the piece, including lore and details about how its unintended consequence manifests.
About Your Stats
- Strength (STR): A measure of your raw brawn and athletic prowess. Its value determines your attack damage.
- Defence (DEF): Measures your ability to shrug off damage when hit with an enemy attack.
- Agility (AGI): A measure of how nimble you are on your feet. Its value is added to attack defence rolls to determine if you are able to dodge an enemy attack.
- Speed (SPD): A measure of how fast you are able to attack. May also sometimes enable multiple consecutive attacks.
- Constitution (CON): A measure of how harty you are, and how much HP you have.
- Luck (LCK): A measure of how lucky you are. Grants chance for Critical hits (1.5 times more damage).

Thank you! We developed this in Godot 4.2. Most of the heavy lifting code-wise was done by busride studio, our team's resident programmer.
